About Us
Our Mission
We make pieces you feel great in and even better about purchasing. For every piece, we name the technique, the region, and the makers behind it. We believe awareness drives appreciation, appreciation drives demand, and sustained demand is what allows artisan communities to build businesses that carry on for generations.
OUR MUSE
Kusuma
My grandmother, Kusuma Kadambari left India in 1965 and built an entirely new life in Canada with her husband and four young daughters. She stepped into a country whose language, customs, and culture were entirely her own to figure out, and she did so with fearless curiosity and quiet grace. On one of her first days there, she navigated the local bus routes alone, in the dead of winter, in a sari, just to get to the grocery store. That was just week one.
Kusuma embraced everything around her while raising a household that never forgot where it came from. Without knowing it, she created a blueprint for what it means to belong in more than one place, carrying your roots proudly while embracing everything a new world has to offer. That blueprint has shaped three generations of our family ever since.
This brand is named after her and everything she represents. Every piece is made for people who meet the world with her same curiosity and fire. The ones drawn to the unfamiliar, who immerse themselves fully, and carry the beauty of where they come from wherever they go.
Artisan Partnerships
Our launch collection is made in partnership with a women's artisan collective in Rajkot, Gujarat. Crochet has deep roots in the region. It is a mother-daughter craft, passed down through generations of women across the state. Learned at home, practiced at home, and now a genuine means of economic independence.
